Andy Rooney

Have you ever thought about the word retirement? Why start with “re” when you do it once? Andy Rooney, the journalist, whose reflections on similar themes have made him a camera on Sunday night for decades, retires from “60 Minutes”. The Hollywood Reporter 92 years reveals that Rooney announced his retirement in their segment of the episode on Sunday. Correspondent Morley Safer also do an interview with a career retrospective of Rooney.

Rooney was part of “60 Minutes” since the beginning of the series in 1968, working as a writer and producer of the series before becoming a member of a rotation of “trials” that delivered the closing theseries segment. Rooney soon proved to be the most popular and “a few minutes with Andy Rooney” has become a regular part of the television news magazine.
